The Witches Of Eastwick
Friday 10th February to Saturday 18th February, 2006
at York Theatre Royal
Music by Dana P. Rowe, Lyrics and Book by John Dempsey. Originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh. Based on the best selling novel by John Updike and the highly successful 1987 movie starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The musical tells the story of the tiny New England town of Eastwick, Rhode Island, and three of its habitants - modern day witches who innocently plot and conjure over a heady brew of weak martinis and peanut butter brownies. But when their longings are made flesh in the arrival of one Darryl Van Horne, all hell breaks loose. Quite literally.
York Light Opera Company were pleased to be selected as one of only 12 groups throughout the country to be selected to perform the show prior to its general release in 2007.
Directed by Martyn Knight. |
